Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on electric transmission design for HV and EHV systems. You will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI standards and prepare plans, specs, and procurement documents while interfacing with clients and project teams.

The role involves leading others, presenting proposals, and traveling to client sites as needed. Hybrid work in the Greater Chicagoland area or remote options in the Midwest are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 4+ years in electric transmission design.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs (PLS-CADD, foundations, materials, plans).
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE standards and specs.
• Ability to develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Strong teamwork and independent work capability.
• Proven client and project team communication skills.
• Leadership experience required for senior level.
• Travel to client sites may be required.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD, POLE, LPILE/FAD, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Design HV/EHV transmission line systems and related infrastructure.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specs, procurement and construction docs.
• Interface with clients, planners, environmental, permitting and construction teams.
• Lead and supervise project staff; coordinate with Leidos team.
