Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on electric transmission design for HV overhead and underground systems (46kV–345kV). The role includes applying NESC/ASCE standards, preparing bids and construction docs, and coordinating with clients and project teams.

The position offers 100% remote work with regular site visits, opportunities across the client’s service area, and is based in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of four (4) years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.
• Experience in reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
• Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams
• Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required

Responsibilities

• Design electric utility transmission systems for HV overhead and underground installations (46kV–345kV).
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specs, and material procurement/construction documents.
• Collaborate with clients, planning, environmental, permitting, and construction teams; interface with Leidos multi-person team.
