Job summary

Leidos seeks a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team working on electric transmission line design projects from 46 kV to 345 kV. The role involves applying NESC, ASCE, ACI, and other standards, performing analyses, drafting plans and specs, and preparing material procurement and construction documents.

Candidate will interface with clients and project teams, develop scopes and budgets, and may travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 8+ years of experience in electric utility transmission design.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plans and profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement; schedules and work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets and proposals.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate with clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design HV overhead and underground transmission line systems from 46 kV to 345 kV.
• Prepare bidding documents, drafts plans and specifications, and material procurement documents.
• Prepare construction documents and coordinate with clients, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams.
• Interface with Leidos team and clients throughout project planning and execution.
• Travel to client sites as needed.
