Job summary

GFT is seeking a Sr. Physical Substation Designer to join our power team. You will design high-voltage substations (34.5kV–500kV) and generate detailed engineering deliverables, working under senior engineers to ensure safety, quality, and reliability.

Travel to job sites is expected for data gathering and field notes, with a hybrid/remote work model available for the right candidate. This role emphasizes project leadership, collaboration, and continued professional development.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of substation or general electrical T&D designing experience.
• Expertise in AutoCAD or MicroStation
• Associate Degree strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and execution of high-voltage substation projects from 34.5kV to 500kV.
• Generate designs and deliverables under supervision of lead engineer.
• Detail general arrangement, elevations, grounding and conduit drawings.
