Job summary

NW Staffing is seeking an experienced HR leader to shape strategy and operations for a mission-driven nonprofit in Portland. You will guide workplace practices, support executives, and strengthen the team that supports families whose children need healthcare.

Eight+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership, plus knowledge of federal and Oregon employment laws, are required. You will coach managers, oversee recruitment, compensation, benefits, leaves, and HR systems while

Qualifications

Eight+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership.
Knowledge of federal and Oregon employment laws (wage, leaves, OFLA, Paid Leave Oregon).
Experience coaching leaders and advancing equitable workplace practices.

Responsibilities

Lead HR strategy and operations across multiple locations, using workforce data and employee feedback to recommend improvements.
Advise and coach managers on employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, and equitable people-management practices.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee transitions, performance reviews, professional development, engagement, and retention initiatives.
Maintain HR policies, the employee handbook, personnel records, and HR systems; oversee employment compliance and workplace safety; partner with Finance on payroll accuracy and budgets.
