Job summary

Bay Area Community Services is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to partner with leaders, conduct complex employee relations investigations, coach managers, and strengthen workplace culture. Travel to Sacramento program sites is required; the role emphasizes compliance with HR policies and payroll laws while delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or higher in HR, business, communications, marketing or social services.
• SPHR/PHR certification preferred.
• Minimum of four years of general human resources experience.
• Experience with employee relations investigations and coaching.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment and payroll laws.

Responsibilities

• Researches and investigates workplace issues to discover facts and potential liability.
• Leads HR investigations with data collection, interviews and documentation.
• Mediates employee relations issues and conducts investigations as needed.
• Audits payroll/timesheets for regulatory compliance and consistency.
• Attends involuntary termination meetings and supports management.
• Identifies ways to improve morale and retention.
• Performs site visits to observe staff and advise on culture and workflows.
• Ensures compliance with employment and payroll laws.
• Supports HR New Hire Orientation and participates in internal audits.
