Job summary

Bay Area Community Services (BACS) seeks an experienced Senior HR Generalist to partner with leaders, resolve complex employee relations issues, coach managers, and strengthen workplace culture. The role emphasizes compliance with employment and payroll laws, with travel to Sacramento program sites.

You will support risk management, standardize processes, and maintain scrupulous compliance while contributing to a values-driven, service-oriented organization across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or higher in Human Resources Management, business, communications, marketing or social services discipline is required.
• Minimum of four years of general human resources experience is required.
• Experience with employee relations investigations and management coaching regarding employee relations issues is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment and payroll laws and HR best practices is required.

Responsibilities

• Researches and investigates workplace issues to discover facts, identify potential liability to the agency, and facilitate resolution.
• Leads and/or partners on HR investigations by coordinating data collection and analysis, interviewing, and documenting corrective actions.
• Works with managers to mediate and resolve employee relations issues and conducts investigations when necessary.
• Audits payroll/timesheet records, performance feedback, and counseling documentation to ensure compliance and consistency.
• Participates on the Safety Committee and collaborates with leadership on risk management goals.
