Job summary

Bay Area Community Services (BACS) seeks a Senior HR Compliance Generalist to partner with leaders, address employee relations issues, coach managers, and strengthen workplace culture while ensuring compliance with employment and payroll laws. The role involves travel to Alameda County locations and collaboration with the HR team on audits and orientation processes.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in HR-related fields, 4+ years of HR experience, and knowledge of relevant laws.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or higher in Human Resources Management, business, communications, marketing or social services discipline required.
• SPHR/PHR certification preferred.
• Minimum of four years of general human resources experience required.
• Experience with employee relations investigations and coaching regarding employee relations issues preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment and payroll laws in HR.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Researches and investigates workplace issues to identify facts and potential liability and facilitate resolution.
• Leads HR investigations with data collection, interviews, documentation, and corrective action recommendations.
• Mediates and resolves employee relations issues; conducts investigations as needed.
• Audits payroll/timesheets, performance feedback, counseling and documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Participates in employee termination meetings and supports management accordingly.
• Supports morale, improves workplace relationships, and enhances productivity and retention.
