TevisHR is seeking a proactive Human Resources Generalist to support our Sacramento team. You will manage HR operations, talent acquisition, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and HR compliance, with a strong focus on California labor law.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of HR Generalist experience, a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, and may hold PHR/SHRM-CP credentials. On-site role in Sacramento with competitive compensation and benefits.

• Solid knowledge of California employment law (FMLA/CFRA, ADA, wage & hour).
• Experience with HRIS and MS Office required.

Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Location: Sacramento, CA (On-site)

Position Summary

We are seeking a versatile and proactive Human Resources Generalist to support our team in Sacramento. In this role, you will be the cornerstone of our HR operations, managing a wide range of functions including talent acquisition, employee onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and HR compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in California employment law and a passion for fostering a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

• HR Operations & Compliance: Serve as the primary contact for HR-related inquiries, ensuring all company policies and practices adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, with a specific focus on California labor law (e.g., wage and hour regulations, leave laws, and mandatory training).
• Talent Acquisition: Manage the full-cycle recruiting process, including drafting job descriptions, posting positions, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and coordinating background checks.
• Onboarding & Offboarding: Lead the onboarding process for new hires to ensure a seamless transition and manage offboarding procedures, including exit interviews and documentation.
• Employee Relations: Provide guidance and support to management and staff regarding employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Benefits & Records: Administer employee benefits programs and maintain accurate, up-to-date personnel records in the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Performance Management: Assist in the administration of performance evaluation processes, training managers on providing effective feedback, and supporting professional development initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or equivalent role, ideally within a multi-functional HR environment.
• California Expertise: Demonstrated working knowledge of California employment law, including FMLA/CFRA, ADA, and wage and hour compliance.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. You must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and empathy.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; PHR or SHRM-CP certification is highly desirable.
• Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
