Job summary

Embassy Suites By Hilton Dulles Airport in Herndon, VA is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee engineering functions for the hotel. The role requires strong maintenance background, HVAC/CPO related certifications desirable, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• CPO, HVAC, boiler, Serve Safe certification desired, or ability to obtain certification based on policy guidelines.
• 3-5+ years of maintenance experience required, preferably in the hotel industry.
• Must be detail oriented, have ability to communicate well with all levels and problem-solve with employees and guests.
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 pounds consistently throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Understand preventive maintenance, routine inspections, guest service recovery, asset protection, procurement guidelines and capital expenditures.
• Identify concerns and provide repair/maintenance solutions to lengthen asset life and reduce long-term costs.
• Help control expenses by using equipment efficiently and adhering to budget guidelines.
• Manage a department and team to ensure financial success, guest satisfaction and adherence to SOPs.
• Provide on-the-job training and coordinate with other departments to ensure top-notch guest service.
