Embassy Suites by Hilton Dulles Airport in Herndon, VA is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee all hotel engineering functions. The role requires strong preventive maintenance oversight, cost controls, and staff leadership for a property with 150 suites and multiple meeting rooms.

You should have a high school diploma or GED, 3–5+ years in hotel maintenance, and relevant certifications such as CPO or HVAC. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive salary in the $75k–$85k range.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• CPO, HVAC, boiler, Serve Safe certification desired, or the ability to obtain certification based on policy guidelines.
• 3-5+ years of maintenance experience required, preferably in the hotel industry.
• Must be detail oriented, have ability to communicate well with all levels within and outside the organization, and be able to problem-solve with employees and guests.
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Engineering: Understand preventive maintenance, routine inspections, guest service recovery, asset protection, procurement guidelines and capital expenditures.
• Identifies concerns and provides repair/maintenance solutions, evaluating functionality of equipment and assets and supervising maintenance as needed.
• Helps control expenses by adhering to cost controls and seeking cost-saving measures.
• Management/Supervisory: Manage a department and team to achieve financial success, guest satisfaction and employee relations.
• Follows SOPs and brand requirements and provides on-the-job training.
• Works collaboratively with all departments to ensure excellent customer service.
• Works safely, maintains a clean and safe work environment, and follows hotel emergency procedures.
• Self/workload management with attention to detail, communication, leadership, and problem-solving.
