Job summary

Embassy Suites by Hilton Dulles Airport in Herndon, VA, part of B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group, seeks a skilled Chief Engineer to lead all hotel engineering functions and ensure safe, reliable operations.

The role focuses on preventive maintenance, asset protection, and cost-aware management to support guest satisfaction and financial performance. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• CPO, HVAC, boiler, Serve Safe certification desired or obtainable per policy.
• 3–5+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in hotel industry.
• Detail oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Understand preventive maintenance, routine inspections, guest service recovery, asset protection, procurement guidelines and capex.
• Identify concerns and provide repair/maintenance solutions to extend asset life.
• Help control expenses through proper equipment use and cost-saving measures.
• Manage a department and team to achieve financial success and guest satisfaction.
• Follow SOPs and set a positive example for others in compliance with group requirements.
• Provide on-the-job training and collaborate with other departments to ensure service quality.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following regulations and procedures.
• Demonstrate strong workload management and creative problem solving when faced with interruptions.
