Job summary

WVU Healthcare seeks an experienced Coding Educator to educate and train the Coding Staff under the direction of Coding Managers. The role oversees auditing and education plans, performs coding quality audits, and provides ongoing feedback and training while utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and other references to ensure accurate MS-DRG, HCC and APR-DRG assignment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of coding experience with HIT education or certifications (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC) and can manage

Qualifications

• Graduate of a HIT or equivalent program with 5 years coding experience, or graduate of a Medical Coding Certification Program with 5 years coding experience, or high school diploma with 8 years coding experience.
• Certification in RHIA/RHIT or CCS/CPC or CO C through AAPC/AHIMA.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coding staff training and development.
• Lead quality improvement audits and education initiatives.
• Serve as expert coding resource for coders, providers, and revenue cycle teams.
• Act as super user for Coding EMR systems and update policies.
