Job summary

WVU Healthcare seeks a senior analyst to educate and train coding staff and to oversee overall auditing and education plans for the department. The role focuses on high-quality coding across ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, MS-DRG and HCC/APR-DRG assignments, with emphasis on feedback, mentoring and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include supervising training activities, conducting quality audits, and acting as a resource to providers and revenue cycle teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Health Information Technology (HIT) or equivalent program with 5 years coding experience; or 5 years coding after a cert program; or 8 years coding with HS diploma.
• Certification in RHIA/RHIT/COC/CCS/CPC through AHIMA or AAPC.
• Extensive experience in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, MS-DRG, HCC and APR-DRG assignments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coding staff training and development activities.
• Lead or perform coding quality audits and provide ongoing feedback.
• Act as expert coding resource to coders, providers and revenue cycle teams.
• Serve as Super user for Coding-related EMR systems and update policies accordingly.
• Develop and maintain coding policies, query development and training materials.
