Job summary

WVU Healthcare is seeking a senior Education and Audit Lead for Coding Staff. The role oversees auditing, education plans, and ongoing feedback to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS and CPT coding with MS-DRG, HCC, and APR-DRG assignments.

The position requires extensive coding experience and supervisory background, with responsibility for curriculum development and EMR governance across coding systems.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Health Information Technology (HIT) or equivalent program with 5 years coding exp.
• Graduate of a Medical Coding Certification Program with 5 years coding exp.
• High School Diploma with 8 years coding exp.

Responsibilities

• Manage training for WVU Healthcare Coding staff and monitor development activities.
• Lead quality improvement audits and staff education.
• Serve as expert coding resource to coders, providers, and revenue cycle teams.
• Act as Super user for Coding EMR systems and update policies/procedures.
• Develop and maintain coding policies, query tools, and training materials.
• Coordinate external audits and facilitate final reports to Coding Manager.
• Communicate with Coding Leadership on issues and audits.
• Onboard new Coding Specialists and update on compliance changes.
