Job summary

WVU Healthcare is seeking an educator and auditor for its Coding staff. The role focuses on training, quality audits, and education plan development to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT coding and MS-DRG assignments.

The candidate will oversee and execute education programs, supervise staff, and serve as a resource to physicians and the revenue cycle team. Experience in multi-specialty coding and regulatory compliance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a HIT program with 5 years coding experience, or coding cert program with 5 years experience, or HS diploma with 8 years experience.
• Certification in RHIA, RHIT, COC, CCS, or CPC from AHIMA/AAPC.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coding staff education and auditing programs.
• Perform and supervise coding quality audits and feedback.
• Serve as expert coding resource to staff, physicians, and revenue cycle.
• Lead or participate in EMR governance and policy updates.
• Develop and maintain coding policies, training materials, and education plans.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with review agencies.
• Track and report internal quality reviews and trends.
• Assist onboarding and ongoing education for new coders.
