Job summary

WVU Healthcare seeks an experienced leader to educate and train the Coding Staff, directing audits and education plans to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT coding and MS-DRG/HCC/APR-DRG assignment. The role requires strong supervisory skills and expertise in government coding regulations.

The successful candidate will mentor staff, develop curricula, and coordinate with physician advisors and department leadership to improve documentation and billing outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of coding experience with HIT or equivalent program.
• RHIA/RHIT, COC, CCS or CPC certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages training for WVU Healthcare Coding staff.
• Oversees quality audits and education plans.
• Acts as expert coding resource to coders, providers and revenue cycle.
• Maintains EMR Data Governance policies and updates.
• Develops coding policies, query development, and training materials.
• Communicates with Coding Leadership and department admins.
• Coordinates internal quality reviews and reports.
• Coordinates external audits and final report preparation.
