Job summary

Axon is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to own system architecture across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and power domains. You will drive technical standards and cross-functional engineering processes, coordinating with EE, RF, SW, and ME leads to deliver production-ready hardware.

This leadership role emphasizes risk management, certification, and scalable design. You will work in a hybrid setup at Axon’s hubs, with relocation support and a competitive total compensation

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware engineering experience across multiple domains.
• Ownership of system architecture and cross-disciplinary decisions for complex hardware.
• Experience taking compact, battery-powered hardware from concept to mass production.
• RF/antenna integration, power architecture, thermal management, EMI/EMC, shielding.
• Ability to articulate technical risk to senior leadership in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with hardware design tools and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Develop system architecture considering electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and software interactions.
• Define system requirements with clear targets and ensure traceability from PRD to validation.
• Lead cross-discipline design reviews and drive stakeholder alignment.
• Own system-level verification strategy and manage risk mitigation efforts.
• Collaborate with ODM/JDM and manufacturing for production readiness and certification.
• Partner with EE, RF, ME leads to resolve design constraints and guide decisions.
