Job summary

Axon is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to own system architecture across electrical, RF, mechanical, thermal, and power domains. You’ll lead the standards and processes shaping mass production of mission-critical hardware and collaborate with EE, RF, SW, and ME leads to drive cross-functional design decisions.

You’ll define requirements, perform risk mitigation, and ensure production-ready integration while coordinating with ODM/JDM partners and global regulatory certifications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hardware engineering experience.
• Experience owning system architecture and cross-disciplinary technical decisions for complex hardware.
• Track record of taking compact, connected, battery-powered hardware from concept through mass production.

Responsibilities

• Develop system architecture with consideration for all disciplines.
• Build system diagrams to guide implementation.
• Balance power, thermal, and cost constraints.
• Lead concept studies with development teams and present outcomes.
• Write and vet system requirements with targets.
• Review product requirements for next-generation devices.
• Simulate subsystem capability against requirements.
• Manage requirements with traceability.
