Job summary

Axon seeks a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to own system architecture across electrical, RF, mechanical, and power domains. You will lead the standards, architecture, and engineering processes that shape how mission-critical hardware is designed, validated, and scaled for mass production.

You will partner with EE, RF, SW, and ME leads to define system requirements, drive cross-functional decisions, and ensure cohesive, production-ready devices.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hardware engineering experience, with deep expertise across multiple domains.
  • Experience owning system architecture and cross-disciplinary technical decisions for complex hardware.
  • Proven track record taking compact, battery-powered hardware from concept through mass production (EVT/DVT/PVT, certification, ramp).
  • Deep experience across RF/antenna integration, power architecture, thermal management, EMI/EMC, shielding, enclosure design, tolerances.
  • Experience working with ODM/JDM or contract manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with hardware design, simulation, testing, and lifecycle tools such as Altium, Cadence, SolidWorks/Creo/NX, RF test equipment, PLM/BOM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system architecture with cross-disciplinary integration across electrical, RF, mechanical, and software domains.
  • Lead design reviews and present outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Define and maintain system requirements and traceability from PRD through V&V.
  • Own system-level verification planning and risk mitigation across modules.
