Job summary

ABB Inc. seeks a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead customer engagement for our 72.5-145 kV DTB solutions. This role blends product management and sales, reporting to the Product Marketing Director and collaborating with Grid Components’ Global Portfolio Management.

The position is remote across the US, with preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX. The candidate will drive market strategy, lead technical discussions, ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance, and shape evolutions in SF6-free

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in high voltage equipment, preferably with circuit breakers or substation components.
• Deep understanding of US sub-transmission applications and utility processes.
• Proven experience in technical sales, product management, or business development.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with vacuum interrupter technology and SF6-free solutions/regulation.
• Familiarity with IEEE/ANSI standards for high-voltage products.
• Ability to travel up to 30% - domestic and international - may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer engagement for our sub-transmission portfolio, focusing on DTB solutions.
• Drive U.S. subtransmission market expansion by developing new utility/EPC/OEM opportunities and go-to-market plans.
• Act as the primary technical interface, leading configuration discussions and presales solution design.
• Ensure IEEE/ANSI compliance and represent ABB in industry bodies.
• Build strategic ecosystem relationships while guiding product evolution and digital integration.
