Job summary

Zoom is seeking a Senior Accountant for its General Ledger team to own the full accounting lifecycle for Internal Use Software and Cloud Computing Arrangements, including capitalization tracking and policy documentation.

This remote-first, hybrid role collaborates with Engineering, FP&A, IT, and Finance to ensure precise recording and reporting and to explore AI-driven automation within the controllership function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years in accounting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and close processes.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel.
• Experience using AI-powered tools to automate tasks.
• CPA license or active candidacy preferred; public company exp.
• SOX 404 and ASC 350-40 familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting lifecycle for Internal Use Software (IUS) and Cloud Computing Arrangements (CCA) including capitalization tracking.
• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation and automate where possible.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts per US GAAP.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analyses with FP&A.
• Support financial reporting packages and schedules.
• Ensure SOX controls and policy adherence; participate in control testing.
• Support audits with PBC schedules and evidence gathering.
• Collaborate with IT to evaluate AI tools and ERP improvements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and increase automation.
