Job summary

Zoom is seeking a Senior Accountant for our General Ledger team to own the full accounting lifecycle for capitalized software, including Internal Use Software and Cloud Computing Arrangements. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience, with 5+ years in accounting including 2+ years in a public company.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge with accrual accounting and full month-, quarter-, and year-end close.
• ERP systems knowledge: Oracle or SAP; advanced Excel; able to work with large data sets and complex reconciliations.
• Experience leveraging AI-powered tools and automation to accelerate accounting tasks.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and explain accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
• CPA license or active CPA candidacy; public accounting experience preferred.
• SOX 404 compliance and ASC 350-40 (IUS & CCA) experience; SaaS/tech exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the accounting lifecycle for Internal Use Software (IUS) and Cloud Computing Arrangements (CCA), including capitalization tracking and journal entries.
• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, allocations, and adjusting entries with supporting documentation, enhancing automation.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts in US GAAP, resolving reconciling items promptly.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly variance analyses and partner with FP&A to explain P&L and balance sheet fluctuations.
• Assemble reporting packages and PBC schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure SOX controls compliance and test key controls.
• Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close and support audits.
• Collaborate with IT to evaluate AI-driven tools and ERP improvements; test and validate.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and increase automation across GL.
