Job summary

Zoom is seeking a Senior Accountant for the General Ledger to own the full accounting lifecycle for capitalized software, including Internal Use Software and Cloud Computing Arrangements, in a remote-first environment. You will partner with Engineering, FP&A, IT and Finance to ensure accurate recording and reporting while contributing to automation and ERP improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including at least 2 years in a public company.
• Solid working knowledge of US GAAP with hands-on experience in accrual accounting, cost allocations, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP and advanced Excel skills; comfortable with large data sets and complex reconciliations.
• Experience leveraging AI-powered tools and automation to accelerate day-to-day accounting tasks.
• CPA license or active CPA candidacy; public accounting background preferred.
• Working knowledge of SOX 404 compliance and ASC 350-40 (Internal Use Software and CCA) in SaaS/tech environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the accounting lifecycle for Internal Use Software (IUS) and Cloud Computing Arrangements (CCA), including capitalization tracking and journal entries per ASC 350-40.
• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals and allocations with supporting documentation; enhance automated processes.
• Maintain and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts in line with US GAAP; resolve reconciling items.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly variance analyses and partner with FP&A to explain P&L and balance sheet movements.
• Support financial reporting by assembling management P&L summaries, variance analyses, and schedules.
• Contribute to monthly/quarterly/annual close and assist audits with PBC schedules.
• Collaborate with Finance and IT to evaluate AI-driven tools and ERP improvements; participate in testing and validation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve data quality and automation.
