Job summary

Zoom is seeking a Senior Accountant for the General Ledger team to own the full lifecycle for capitalized software, including IUS and CCA, while contributing to close processes and financial reporting. You’ll work at the intersection of accounting and technology, partnering with Engineering, FP&A, IT, and Finance to ensure accurate recording and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including at least 2 years in a public company.
• CPA license or active CPA candidacy.
• Experience with US GAAP, accrual accounting, cost allocations, and full month- to year-end close.
• Experience with SOX 404 compliance and ASC 350-40 (IUS/CCA accounting).
• Experience with AI-powered tools and automation to accelerate accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support the accounting lifecycle for Internal Use Software (IUS) and Cloud Computing Arrangements (CCA), including capitalization tracking and journal entries.
• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation and leverage automation.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analyses and explain P&L/sH fluctuations with FP&A.
• Assist in financial reporting packages and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX controls through testing.
• Contribute to close processes and assist audits with evidence gathering.
• Collaborate with IT and Finance to evaluate AI tooling and ERP improvements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and increase automation.
