Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer Manager in Merrimack, NH to lead complex infrastructure projects across New England. You will oversee investigations, design, and project delivery while mentoring engineers and growing the geotechnical practice. Travel to project sites and remote locations will be necessary.

You will drive client relationships, manage scopes and budgets, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. A PE license and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline with a geotechnical focus.
• 10+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in a New England state or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• Experience leading geotechnical engineering design and construction projects.
• Strong project management, technical writing, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical engineering projects from proposal and planning through design, construction, and project closeout.
• Provide technical oversight for geotechnical investigations, subsurface exploration programs, foundation design, slope stability evaluations, retaining structures, and earthwork projects.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, quality, and client deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Review and prepare engineering reports, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
• Support business development activities, client relationship management, and proposal pursuits.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and safety policies.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
