Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer Manager to lead complex infrastructure and development projects across New England from our Merrimack, NH office. The role combines technical leadership with project management, client development and team mentorship.

You will oversee investigations, analyses and design across transportation, energy and building sectors, mentor junior staff, and drive growth of WSP's geotechnical practice while coordinating with regulators and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
• 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in a New England state or reciprocity.
• Proven experience leading geotechnical design and construction projects.
• Strong project management, technical writing, and client-facing skills.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software and MS Office.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Compliance with safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical engineering projects from proposal and planning through design, construction, and closeout.
• Provide technical oversight for investigations, foundation design, slope stability, and earthwork.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, quality, and client deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and regulators.
• Review and prepare engineering reports, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
• Support business development activities and client relationships.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Exercise ethical decision making regarding company funds and resources.
