Job summary

WSP USA in Merrimack, NH is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer Manager to lead complex infrastructure projects across New England. You will oversee investigations, design, and project delivery, mentoring engineers and directing client engagements.

This role requires a PE license, 10+ years in geotechnical engineering, and strong leadership, writing, and communication skills. Travel to sites and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field with geotechnical focus.
• 10+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license in a New England state or eligible via reciprocity.
• Experience leading geotechnical design and construction projects.
• Strong project management, technical writing, and client-facing skills.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software and MS Office.
• Ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and work in office and field settings.
• Willingness to travel as needed for projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical projects from proposal through design, construction, and closeout.
• Provide oversight for investigations, subsurface exploration, foundation design, slope stability, retaining structures, and earthwork.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, quality, and client deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and regulators.
• Review and prepare engineering reports, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
• Support business development and client relationship management.
