Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering seeks an experienced Senior Engineer to join the Geotechnical Group. You will lead investigations, interpret data, and mentor junior staff on challenging projects spanning municipal, industrial, residential, and commercial sectors.

You will manage field operations, prepare reports, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions for our clients in the southeastern US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical focus; Master's preferred.
• 6-8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in SC or NC; ability to license in additional SE states within 6 months.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design and construction requirements.
• Knowledge of geosynthetics and soils testing procedures.
• Ability to travel up to 10% for site meetings and client development.
• Strong knowledge of regulations, subsurface geology, soil/rock mechanics, hydrogeology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead projects and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and interpretation of analytical data.
• Lead geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, drilling oversight, sampling, and field data collection.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, maps, and client presentations.
• Manage multiple projects with quality, budget, and schedule oversight.
• Direct field operations and supervise subcontractors in drilling and logging.
• Mentor junior staff and foster professional growth.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
