Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. seeks a Senior Engineer to lead geotechnical investigations and mentor staff within our Construction Materials Testing group. You will manage complex projects, provide advanced technical expertise, and support client relationships across municipal, industrial, residential, and commercial projects.

The role emphasizes leadership, independent work in a fast-paced consulting environment, and travel up to 10% for site meetings and outreach across the southeastern US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a geotechnical focus (Master's preferred).
• 6–8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Licensed PE in SC or NC; ability to become licensed in SE states within six months.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design, construction requirements, and geosynthetics.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for site meetings and client development.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to lead projects and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert interpretation of analytical data for diverse projects.
• Lead geotechnical investigations: site reconnaissance, drilling oversight, sampling, field data collection; assign soils lab testing.
• Interpret site data to meet project objectives; prepare reports, maps, and client presentations.
• Ensure technical accuracy and quality of deliverables.
• Act as technical lead for complex environmental investigations and remediation projects.
• Apply environmental engineering principles and remediation technologies.
• Manage multiple projects; direct field operations, budgets, and schedules.
• Stay current with regulations, best practices, and technologies; contribute to firm improvements.
• Provide technical direction to teams; oversee staffing and resource allocation.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development through proposals and client interactions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local environmental regulations; uphold safety standards.
