Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our geotechnical group in the Southeast. You will lead complex geotechnical projects, provide technical supervision, and mentor junior staff within our Construction Materials Testing and Geotechnical practice.

You will advance client relations, contribute to expanding geotechnical capabilities, and work on diverse projects for municipal, industrial, residential, and commercial clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical focus; Masters preferred.
• 6–8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in SC or NC, with ability to license in additional southeastern states within six months.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design and construction requirements.
• Knowledge of geosynthetics.
• Travel up to 10% for site meetings and client development within the southeastern US.
• Strong knowledge of regulations, subsurface geology, soil and rock mechanics, hydrogeology, and geotechnical site assessment.
• Experience with field investigation techniques (drilling, sampling, logging).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical interpretation of analytical data for a wide range of projects.
• Lead geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, drilling oversight, sampling, and field data collection; assign soils laboratory testing.
• Interpret site data to reach project objectives and prepare detailed reports for clients and regulators.
• Ensure technical accuracy and quality in deliverables.
• Serve as technical lead for complex environmental investigations and remediation projects.
• Apply environmental engineering principles and regulatory knowledge to projects.
