Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to lead geotechnical investigations and manage challenging construction materials testing projects.

You will mentor staff, interact with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams while advancing geotechnical capabilities within a growing practice. The role emphasizes leadership, technical expertise, and a strong background in geotechnical design, field investigations, and regulatory compliance across southeastern

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with geotechnical focus; Master’s preferred.
• 6–8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in SC or NC; ability to become licensed in other southeastern states within six months.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design and construction requirements.
• Knowledge of geosynthetics; willing to travel up to 10% within the southeastern US.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction to multidisciplinary project teams.
• Lead geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, drilling oversight, sampling, and field data collection; assign soils laboratory testing.
• Interpret site data to support project objectives and prepare detailed technical reports and presentations.
• Manage multiple projects with budgets, schedules, and deliverables; ensure quality and compliance.
• Mentor junior staff, oversee staffing and field operations planning, and support client development and regulatory interactions.
