Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking a Senior Geostructural Design Engineer to lead design services for retaining walls, ground improvement, excavation support, slope stabilization, and deep foundations. The ideal candidate combines strong technical acumen with collaboration across disciplines and client-facing interaction.

This role offers project ownership, direct client contact, and the chance to shape BLE’s specialized geostructural service within a multidisciplinary firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree with geotechnical/structural emphasis preferred.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• 8 to 12 years in geotechnical, structural, or geostructural engineering with increasing responsibility.
• OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction safety (or ability to obtain); preferred training in construction inspection, slope stability, or deep foundation testing.

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior staff on technical execution, design software, and field practices, providing constructive feedback to strengthen technical skills and engineering judgment.
• Support onboarding, training, and integration of new team members.
• Help build a geographically distributed, high-performing team through clear communication and shared technical standards.
• Act as a technical lead on projects, guiding staff and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Serve as a point of contact for assigned clients and projects, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
• Lead or contribute to internal QA/QC reviews of design calculations, drawings, and reports, ensuring review comments are addressed before issuance.
• Develop and enforce design standards and checklists for Geostructural work.
