Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer in Generator Product Service to own complex generator and electrical system issues from fault identification to resolution, while guiding fleet-wide improvements and customer-facing support.

The role requires 5+ years in generator engineering, strong cross-functional leadership, and travel of 10–15% domestically and internationally. Master’s degree and Six Sigma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field; a formal degree is preferred, but total experience matters
• 5+ years of experience in generator engineering and technology
• Willingness to travel 10–15% domestically and internationally, including short notice, and to support off-hours or weekend emergency response

Responsibilities

• Lead technical investigations from fault identification through CAPA and prevention, resolving complex generator/electrical issues with fleet-wide impact
• Serve as the technical authority for generator and electrical system designs, ensuring requirements are met and coordinating with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and design teams
• Be the face of GE Vernova's technical expertise at customer sites, outages, industry conferences, and with proposals/bids teams
• Author and publish technical communications (TILs, PSSBs, PSIBs, safety alerts) to keep customers informed and equipment running safely
• Support strategic programs including service fulfillment and New Product Introduction, communicating progress across all levels
• Mentor and develop a team of generator and electrical systems product service engineers
