Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Generator Design Liaison Engineer to bridge the gap between generator design and manufacturing on the Schenectady floor. The role requires on-site presence across shifts and mentoring junior engineers while supporting rotor, armature core, winding, lamination, and bars sub-systems.

The successful candidate will lead design-for-manufacturability improvements, participate in design reviews, and ensure manufacturability, quality, safety, and cost targets are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum five years in generator engineering/manufacturing or liaison role.
• Strong knowledge of rotor, armature core, winding, lamination, and armature bar design-manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical interface between generator design engineering and manufacturing on the factory floor.
• Drive improvements in manufacturability while maintaining performance, quality, safety and cost targets.
• Engage in early design reviews focusing on producibility and process capability.
• Lead resolution of design-to-manufacturing issues across rotor, armature core, winding, lamination, and bars.
• Translate engineering requirements into clear direction for manufacturing teams.
• Partner with shop operations to resolve nonconformances and drive corrective actions.
• Identify and mitigate risks in design-to-manufacturing transfer.
• Capture manufacturing lessons for design standards and product improvements.
