Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking an experienced Service Technician for Commercial Generators in Illinois. You will maintain and repair generator and power distribution equipment and provide technical support to customers on operational aspects.

Qualifications include multi-level technician experience (Level II–IV) with 3–10+ years in generator systems, strong schematics skills, and the ability to mentor other technicians. Must be able to travel and work outdoors in various conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years field experience for Level II; 6+ years for Level III; 10+ years for Level IV in generator systems.
• Experience with 500kW+ systems; engine repairs and switchgear knowledge.
• Ability to read schematics and diagnose electrical issues.
• Willingness to travel and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Travel daily to service sites with an independent work structure.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics on generators and power distribution equipment.
• Battery installations and replacements.
• Complete Field Service Reports, Time Sheets and other required paperwork.
• Interface with customers and provide technical support.
• Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors as needed.
• Maintain company vehicle and tools.
