Job summary

Integrated Power Services, LLC. is seeking a Generator Field Service Technician to service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators in the field across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

You will travel regionally, perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, and commissioning while ensuring safety and high-quality customer service. A valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain a DOT medical certification are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience repairing or maintaining generators preferred or an equivalent education/experience
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are essential
• Good communication and customer service skills required
• Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license and be willing to obtain DOT medical certification

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance: oil/filter changes, plugs, coolant checks and filters
• Conduct inspections of mechanical and electrical systems
• Clean components including filters, cooling system, exterior of units
• Perform testing: load bank, ATS, functional testing
• Troubleshoot: alternators, wiring, switches and battery systems
• Diagnose failures using multimeters and other tools
• Assist with commissioning and start-up activities and coordination
• Familiarity with brands such as Kohler, CAT, Cummins, Generac, Deere, Onan, MTU, Volvo, Mitsubishi
• Provide clear customer communications and complete service documentation
• Operate a company vehicle safely and maintain inventory and vehicle safety checks
