Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Generator Field Service Technician to service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators in the field for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.

You will travel to local counties in a company vehicle, performing preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning to ensure reliable power systems.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a technical school is desirable, focusing on generators, diesel, power gen, electric power, relay, or substation technology.
• Some experience in repair or maintenance of generators is preferred, or an equivalent education/experience.
• Mechanical aptitude can substitute for generator-specific training.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators in the field for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, cleaning, testing, and troubleshooting of generators and related systems.
• Diagnose issues using meters, schematics, and operating manuals; communicate findings to customers clearly.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities, including testing, switchgear, and control panels.
• Travel in a company vehicle to local counties; maintain vehicle inventory and ensure safety compliance.
