Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Generator Field Service Technician to service, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engine-driven standby generators in the field, serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients to keep power on.

We value safety, teamwork, and a customer-first approach. Qualifications include 3+ years driving, technical training, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs; onsite travel is required with a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a technical school is desired with generator/diesel/power tech background.
• 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
• Must have satisfactory driving record and ability to obtain a DOT medical certification.
• Experience in repair or maintenance of generators preferred.
• Ability to read schematics, manuals and safety guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in demanding conditions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance: oil, filter changes, spark plugs, coolant.
• Inspections: visual checks on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Testing: load bank, ATS, function testing.
• Troubleshooting: alternators, wiring, switches, battery systems.
• Commissioning & Start Ups: design review, testing, panel programming.
• Documentation: complete reports on work performed.
• Travel in a company vehicle to local counties.
• Customer service: communicate issues and resolutions clearly.
