Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Lead Generator Controls Engineer to provide technical leadership in generator controls, excitation systems, and power electronics.

You will mentor engineers, guide design and execution strategy, and support installation, commissioning, and field troubleshooting both remotely and on-site. You will collaborate across engineering, product management, commercial, quality, and field services to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with customer and business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Controls engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 6+ years in generator controls, excitation systems, power systems, or related industrial applications.
• Proven experience in technical leadership or project leadership roles.
• Experience delivering complex engineering projects in cross-functional environments.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead technical expert for generator controls and excitation system applications.
• Establish and uphold engineering standards, best practices, and technical rigor across projects.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers.
• Lead technical reviews, design discussions, and root cause investigations.
• Support resolution of high-impact technical issues across development, manufacturing, commissioning, and field operations.
