Job summary

Hirewell is seeking an experienced General Manager to provide senior operational leadership for a 1,900+ unit multifamily portfolio across nine high-rise and mid-rise buildings in Chicago. You will drive resident satisfaction, financial performance, and asset optimization while leading property management and building operations teams.

In this role, you will partner with ownership and senior leadership to execute business objectives, monitor leasing and rent collection, and manage annual budgets

Qualifications

• 8+ years of multifamily property management experience with progressive leadership.
• Experience overseeing a large portfolio and multiple properties in urban settings.
• Strong budgeting, financial analysis, and NOI improvement experience.
• Knowledge of Chicago/IL housing regulations and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall operational leadership and strategic direction for a 1,900+ unit portfolio across nine buildings.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, financial performance, and resident experience.
• Lead and develop property management teams including PMs, leasing, maintenance, and engineering.
• Analyze KPIs, budgets, and variances to improve NOI and asset value.
• Collaborate with ownership, asset management, and senior leadership on capital planning and objectives.
• Maintain compliance with housing regulations and company policies.
