Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist, General Liability, to manage complex injury and property damage claims with advanced coverage evaluation and settlements. You will mentor other claim professionals and lead high-stakes negotiations with counsel, vendors and customers.

The role requires a strong background in bodily injury claims, litigation, and licenses where required by state law, along with proficiency in claims systems and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum three years of bodily injury liability or property damage claims experience.
• Active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Experience with claims management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze complex situations and make independent decisions.
• Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage high-volume workload.
• Knowledge of insurance principles and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly, including AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active caseload of injury and/or property damage claims and litigation through resolution.
• Investigate information by contacting relevant parties to determine coverage and liability.
• Provide timely, professional communication to customers, counsel, vendors and stakeholders.
• Develop and execute advanced resolution strategies and coordinate resources.
• Partner with Counsel to manage litigation strategies.
• Manage multi-party negotiations to achieve optimal resolutions within authority.
• Maintain accurate records in claim management systems.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.
• Adapt to system upgrades and AI tool rollouts.
