Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Technical Specialist, General Liability to manage active injury and property damage claims with oversight. You will determine coverage, evaluate liability, and issue timely payments, while building relationships with customers and stakeholders.

The role requires strong claims management, investigation, and negotiation skills, plus the ability to work with counsel and adjusters in complex cases and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Three years of liability, bodily injury or comparable claim experience.
• Two years of litigation claim experience.
• Active adjuster license, where required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active caseload of injury and/or property damage claims and litigation from first notice of loss through resolution within level of authority.
• Gather and thoroughly investigate information to determine coverage, evaluate liability, assess damages, and establish reserves.
• Provide timely and professional communication to customers, representatives, opposing counsel, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate resolution strategies and internal/external resources to conduct investigations and evaluations.
• Negotiate settlements within authority and issue payments timely and accurately; support litigation management strategies with Counsel.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems.
• Identify areas for improvement and contribute creative solutions.
• Adapt to technology implementations and digital tools while maintaining productivity and service quality.
