Job summary

EY is hiring a General Ledger / Accounts Payable Senior Associate to support day-to-day GL, AP and expense functions in a government contracting environment. The role involves journal entries, reconciliations, period-end close, and audit support, with a focus on compliance and process improvement.

You will work with the G&I Finance team reporting to the General Ledger and AP Directors, leveraging Costpoint and Excel to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of related accounting experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Deltek Costpoint experience is required.
• Experience with government contracting and GL, AP & expense processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, lookups).

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger account structures and configurations.
• Ensure transactions comply with GAAP, FAR, CAS, EY policies.
• Review journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Prepare journal entries and schedules.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Perform reconciliations and close activities.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Process AP vouchers and expense reports.
• Train staff on systems, policies and requirements.
• Collaborate with Contracts, Subcontracts, Purchasing, Finance and Compliance.
