Job summary

Argo Group is seeking a Garage Property Damage Claims Adjuster to adjudicate complex commercial claims from an on-site office, with offices in Chicago, IL and other locations. The role requires strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, plus at least two years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree.

The position reports to a manager based in Denver and emphasizes detailed information gathering, investigation, and timely resolution of claims, with a focus on profitability

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience adjudicating Garage Property Damage claims (first and third party).
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required; substitutions allowed with additional designations or experience.
• Licensed Claims Examiner; must be licensed or able to obtain license within 120 days.
• Experience with Guidewire, ImageRight, and ClaimsCenter strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate Garage Property Damage claims of higher technical complexity under direction.
• Resolve issues that are generalized but require broad understanding.
• Gather information, analyze and investigate to resolve issues.
• Report to senior management and underwriters on claims trends and developments.
• Identify loss drivers and trends to reduce claims frequency and severity.
• Analyze claims forms, endorsements, and records to determine policy coverage.
• Investigate claims promptly, interviewing involved parties.
• Manage claims in litigation and maintain diaries to ensure timely resolutions.
• Set claim reserves and coordinate expert resources for case resolution.
• Prepare reports for file documentation and communicate findings.
• Negotiate cost-effective solutions within own limits.
