Syms Strategic Group seeks a Senior Functional Analyst - II for a remote US-based role within the Veterans Affairs department. The candidate will lead requirements capture, document specifications, and manage backlog items in an Agile environment using SAFe and JIRA.

A Master’s in engineering or related field is required, with extensive experience and a Public Trust clearance preferred. The role emphasizes collaboration with IT, stakeholders, and product teams to ensure traceable requirements

Qualifications

Strong background in software development and SAFe/Agile methodologies.
Excellent oral and written communication with non-technical audiences.
Attention to detail, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience conducting independent research to support complex questions.
Advanced experience with MS Office including Excel.
Expertise with JIRA tools for requirements management.

Responsibilities

Lead capture of business requirements for software development teams.
Document and elaborate requirements in an ALM tool with stakeholders.
Manage requirements and user stories in JIRA.
Perform Agile requirement management for product teams.
Analyze user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
Conduct interviews, run sessions, and develop business process models.
