Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst II for the Veterans Affairs department. This 100% remote role centers on capturing and refining business requirements for software development teams and ensuring alignment with ALM practices.

You will collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership, document requirements in JIRA, manage backlogs, define acceptance criteria, and maintain traceability across requirements, tests, and risks.

Qualifications

Strong background in software development and SAFe/agile methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Attention to detail, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience conducting independent research to resolve complex questions.
Advanced experience with MS Office, including Excel.
Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.
Experience with JIRA and Agile tooling in large projects.

Responsibilities

Lead capture of business requirements for software development teams.
Collaborate with users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in ALM tool.
Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform Agile requirement management.
Develop and maintain backlog items, acceptance criteria, and user stories.
Ensure traceability among requirements, test cases, and risks across SAFe lifecycle.
Coordinate with Systems Engineers on impact to technical solutions.
Provide project documents and monitor execution status and metrics.
