Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Functional Analyst - II to lead requirements capture for software development teams in a 100% U.S.-based remote role within the Veterans Affairs portfolio. You will collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to elicit, document, and manage requirements in an ALM tool, and guide backlog items through SAFe practices.

The role requires 10 years of professional experience, strong SAFe/Agile background, exceptional communication, and JIRA

Qualifications

Background in software development and SAFe methodologies.
Excellent oral and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Experience performing independent research to resolve complex questions.
MS Office proficiency, especially Excel.
Strong analytical skills with ability to integrate information from multiple sources.
JIRA tools expertise for requirements, testing, and defect management.
Experience in large, Agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
Collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in an ALM tool.
Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform Agile requirement management.
Elaborate user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
Conduct user interviews and develop business process models and specifications.
Document and manage requirements, epics, and user stories in JIRA.
Perform backlog refinement and track system and business requirements.
