Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Acquisition & Onboarding team. You will define long-term technical strategy, mentor engineers, and elevate the quality and velocity of full stack development across mobile, web, and backend systems.

You will work at the intersection of product, design, and engineering to build polished, performant, and accessible experiences that impact conversion and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• Experience leading significant mobile initiatives (React Native or native) and cross-functional launches.
• Shipping web apps with React or Vue and strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills.
• Backend design with Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to write high-quality code and drive architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team and lead engineers through ambiguity.
• Collaborate with product, design, and analytics throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ensure operations, monitoring, triage, and on-call readiness for the team.
• Identify and lead solutions to project, process, or technology issues.
• Develop team artifacts with metrics and maintain “keep the lights on” practices.
• Set and improve code review and design standards beyond the team.
• Mentor engineers and foster growth through feedback and example.
