Job summary

Hopper's HTS Assist is seeking a senior full-stack engineer to anchor real-time and voice layers end-to-end. You will work on React/TypeScript front ends, Scala and Python services, and cloud infrastructure on GCP/AWS, with ownership spanning from telephony integrations to live deployment governance.

You will shape multi-tenant systems, implement safety/compliance pipelines, and drive observability while mentoring teammates in a fast-moving, startup environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering with senior ownership of production systems.
• Realtime systems experience, voice applications or low-latency tech.
• Strong frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend (Scala or JVM, or Python).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, or event-driven systems.
• Familiar with AI coding tools in daily workflows and code review responsibility.
• Operable-systems mindset: SLAs, observability, on-call rotations, rollback plans.
• Bonus: conversational AI / LLM orchestration and cloud telephony exposure.
• Bonus: travel industry tech knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the voice channel end to end, including telephony and CPaaS integrations.
• Build features across stack: React/TypeScript frontend, Scala/Python backend, and GCP infra.
• Design for multi-tenant scaling via configuration rather than forks.
• Build safety, compliance, and PII redaction integration points.
• Maintain revenue-critical deployments with observability and SLAs.
• Configure platform capabilities for partner telephony go-lives.
• Raise engineering bar through code reviews and mentoring.
